Pre-College AI Scholars at Carnegie Mellon University
Carnegie Mellon’s AI Scholars program provides an incredible introduction to AI for rising seniors. At this immersive 4 week residential program, students will be able to work with CMU faculty and their peers to create a capstone research project demonstrating all they have learned. Throughout the program, there will be opportunities for hands-on learning to better understand AI.
And if you have no experience with AI or Python, no need to worry! As early as one month before this program takes place on CMU’s campus, a virtual pre-program Python course will be available in synchronous and asynchronous components for all interested students. Prior coding experience is not required, and instructor support will be available for all students.

AI Bootcamp - Mark Cuban Foundation
The AI Bootcamp hosted by the Mark Cuban Foundation is a completely free, four half-day AI camp for interested 9th-12th graders that provides a comprehensive AI introduction. Students will learn about AI and its ethical implications, where AI is found throughout their daily lives, and what the future will look like in AI. The program aims to especially recruit underserved high school students to increase AI literacy and understanding, and also aims to get students from minority groups or female students.
The bootcamp is hosted in around 15 states and more than 30 locations. Throughout this program, high schoolers will also learn how to use Microsoft’s cloud computing tools to create their own AI tools! Instructors will guide students on their own capstone project throughout the duration of the camp.

AI4ALL
The AI4ALL program is an AI camp that envisions teaching students about how AI provides a powerful set of tools that everyone should have access to in our fast-changing world. Through the creation of a diverse community that strives to learn about AI, the program educates students on utilizing AI for social good, as AI tools are applied to create the solutions to different problems.
AI4ALL also hosts another AI camp called AI4ALL Ignite, where interested undergraduate students can become AI-Internship ready for no cost! Undergraduates will be mentored by experts in the AI industry as they get the chance to work on an AI Portfolio Project under guidance. From this AI Camp, you will also receive guidance on how to ace your next technical AI Internship interview!

However, many esteemed universities also host their own AI4ALL programs, each with different costs. Examples of this include Stanford AI4ALL and Princeton AI4ALL. The best part about each of these separate programs is that you can find the one that best suits your needs and interests! Princeton’s program is residential and lasts 3 weeks. Throughout the AI camp, you will get the opportunity for hands-on AI lectures and projects, and even take a two-day trip to Washington, D.C. to learn about the intersection of AI and public policy! Stanford’s program also lasts 3 weeks, but it is fully virtual. It also consists of nearly the same mentorship as well as hands-on lectures, and is more accessible! NYU Tandon's Summer Program for Machine Learning
NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering also hosts a high school AI camp called the Summer Program for Machine Learning. During this 2-week program, you will learn all about the computer science, data analyses, mathematical techniques, and logic that drive the fields of machine learning and artificial intelligence!
This program is overseen by the faculty of NYU’s Electrical and Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering departments, as well as their graduate students. This means students will get exposure to the mentorship of both highly-trained faculty as well as students who have already taken the same road to learning AI that you will as well!
Interested students have to currently be enrolled in grades 9, 10, or 11 who have already completed Algebra 2 or the equivalent. You must also have some previous computer programming experience in any language of your choice.
